Dive Rescue Team

The Shawano County Dive Team had it's start in 1984.
At that time, two sport divers from the Shawano Police Department, Sergeants Alan Schultz and Sgt. Since those days, the dive team has evolved into a highly skilled, and professional dive team.  The team now consists of  sixteen members.

The Shawano County Dive Team is a cooperative effort involving the following agencies: Shawano City Police Department, Shawano County Sheriff's Department, Shawano Area Fire Department, Cecil / Washington Fire Department, Wittenberg Fire Department. Team members receive training and certification in the following areas: Advanced Open Water Diver, Public Safety Diver, Swift Water Rescue and Recovery, Ice Rescue and Ice Diving, Light Salvage and Recovery, Underwater Evidence Search and Recovery, Dive Medical Specialist.

Our team utilizes specialized equipment including a Hovercraft, Zodiak boats, full faced Aga hardwire communication masks, underwater video, and  underwater metal detector.
